Forum Rules [27/06/09]

Postby Hobo on Sat Jun 27, 2009 7:15 am

All I ask is that everyone that participates on these forums follow the rules as listed below. If you do not wish to read it please at least watch this video, http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-behave-on-an-internet-forum. However you have no one to blame except yourself if you get banned so I strongly suggest you read the rules AND watch the video =D.

General Board-wide

  • #1.1: Do not background moderate. It is strongly encouraged that members use the report to administrator feature if they must.
  • #1.2: This forum is only limited to English and is no way obliged to support any other language. This may include buttons, dynamic content, etc.
  • #1.3: Administrators/moderators reserve the right to lock, delete or edit your post at any time.

Warning/Penalties

  • #2.1: Members who disobey the rules will be warned or banned. This depends on what the administrator/moderator believes is appropriate at the time.
  • #2.2: Members can only have a maximum of three (3) warnings and on the third and final warning the member will be immediately banned. Members may not receive a warning when banned depending on the offence.
  • #2.3: Penalties given will be based on number of times offended and type of offences committed.
  • #2.4: Type of penalties include (but not limited to):
    • Warning(s)
    • 3 day ban
    • 1 week ban
    • 1 month ban
    • lifetime ban

Posting:

  • #3.1: All topics must contain a relevant description.
  • #3.2: Treat others positively with respect. Flaming other members or other forums will lead to a warning, possibly even a ban. E.g. "STFU N00B" is not acceptable.
  • #3.3: Posts must be made in the relevant topic/thread/forum.
  • #3.4: Topic titles must contain accurate description of what posts should be about.
  • #3.5: Bumping is allowed provided, the post is useful to the continuance of the topic. Short intervals of bumps are not allowed.
  • #3.6: Double posts are not allowed, this includes posting the same or very similar content as another user or your own.
  • #3.7: E-mails in public domain MUST be hard coded. E.g.
    Code: Select all
    myemail@mydomain.com
  • #3.8: No excessive levels of quoting. Only quote what is relevant or what you are replying to in your post.
  • #3.9: No topic hijacking. Translation: Don't go off topic.
  • #3.10: Removal of administrator/moderator posts is not allowed.
  • #3.11: No warez.
  • #3.12: In the unlikely event that the member's post has exceeded the maximum characters, the same member is allowed to double or triple post.

Spam

  • #4.1: Excessive posting with the aim of increasing post count is not allowed.
  • #4.2: The following one liners are considered spam:
    • Acronyms such as lol
    • The use of emote only replies. E.g. :ugeek:

These are simply guidelines and spam is not limited to just these two examples.

Private Messaging

  • #5.1: All rules apply regarding private messaging.

Avatars and Signatures

  • #6.1: All rules apply regarding avatars and signatures.
  • #6.2: The total maximum dimensions for all images/texts in a signature is 700px (width) by 250px (height) horizontally only.

Misc. Guidelines

  • #7.1: Please do not ask administrators/moderators for your post to be sticked. If there is enough space and there are exceptional posts then it will be stickied in it's own time.
  • #7.2: Please PM an administrator for your username change requests (if needed).
  • #7.3: Constantly asking for administrative/moderator rights will hinder your chance of actually getting any.
  • #7.4: All forum rules apply to individual member profiles.
