rock - which decade was the best

Postby mrbrimstone on Fri Nov 13, 2009 11:33 am

I grew up on G'N'R, Ozzy, Metallica etc. I am 15 years a guitar player, and I love that music. I also listen to the new stuff like Korn and Linkin Park, and lots of the older rock like Cream, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc.

What do you guys think? Which decade defined rock most for you?

I like the old stuff. I was born in 1991. Sometimes I wish I could have grown up with those artists.

KoRn is the best band ever in my opinion. I grew up listening to them. But I've found that they're an acquired taste for their songs that aren't hits.

Hendrix, Janice Joplin, the Dead, Zeppelin,of course Pink Floyd. Those guys laid the foundation for real rock.
Now I grew up on 80's glam bands. Whitesnake LOL and Quiet Riot. Guns n Roses. They look really corny now but they were cool back in the day.

Sometimes I'll put in my Dark Side of the Moon cs before I go to bed. I'll just sit in my room with all the lights off, pitch blackness. Its the greatest thing ever. They wrote that album so that all of the songs would lnk together. If you listen to it from beginning to end it sounds so cool.
